Mrs Hurrell

Mrs Hurrell
Can you introduce yourself and tell us what you do at our school?
Hello, I'm Mrs Hurrell and I am the deputy headteacher here at Eye.  I work Monday- Wednesdays and work with all the staff across the school to support them with any concerns about children who need extra help in school or if they have any worries about their safety or well being. These roles are called the SENCo and the Designated Child Protection person.

What did you study at University?
My degree is a Bachelor of Education (BEd Hons) from the university of Derby and  I have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

What were your favourite subjects at school?
I used to enjoy English and Art at school. Lots of teachers inspired me to choose the career of a teacher.

What did you do before you were a teacher?
Before I worked as a teacher, I voluntarily worked with special needs children and also worked for an insurance company. I also used to work  at a children's holiday activities club with Mr Such!

What do you like to do out of school?
My favourite hobbies are spending time with my family, including my husband and young daughter and going to the cinema.
 What's your favourite meal?
It's difficult to choose!  A lamb Rogan Josh curry, with rice and a peshwari naan!

Is there anything you really don't like?
