Class 7

Class 7 is a year 3 and 4 class of 27 children. We began this term by studying our topic ‘Once upon a time.’ We had great fun learning about traditional stories and we covered many aspects of the curriculum with role play of characters, composing of music to accompany story, collages to illustrate our favourite parts and much much more. In science we studied materials and their properties and enjoyed experimenting with chocolate looking at reversible and irreversible changes. In the second half of this term we worked around the theme of ‘Take one picture’ and studied Avercamp’s winter scene. We looked at the history of the painting, imagined we were the characters in the scene, produced some excellent descriptive poetry including similes and worked with water colours to produce our very own master pieces! In RE we became Bible detectives and studied the aspects of the Old and New Testament we then went on to look at The Church and The People and has fun writing and receiving letters from some local Christians.

Class 8

Class 8 is a straight year 4 class and we love learning. Every day we practise calculations in maths, and in English we are really working hard to make sure all our sentences make sense and are well punctuated.  We love writing and we are about to start a class weekly newspaper which will be published in the classroom. Work on the Learning Platform is going great and we are all using it to do, and hand in, our homework.

We're all looking forward to the Christmas break because we've earned it.  One of our mottos is 'work hard, play hard'.
