Supporting Learners with Special Educational and Disability Needs
At our school we believe all of our pupils can achieve great things when they are given opportunity, motivation and caring support. On top of the ‘Quality First Teaching’ which is the entitlement for all children at our school we also offer a range of ‘additional and different’ arrangements to support children with SEND.
All the children in school get support that is specific to their individual needs at the present time. This may all be provided by the class teacher, or with support from a Teaching Assistant or may also involve:
If you have would like to speak to our Deputy Headteacher (SENCO), Mrs Hurrell, then please do not hesitate to get in touch by telephone or arrange a meeting via the office. She is available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. Your child's class teacher will also be happy to chat with you about any concerns or queries you have.
All of Peterborough’s schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities but the SEN information report above provides some details of what we do here at Eye Primary. We currently support a range of pupils with needs including hearing impairments, visual impairments, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, ADHD, mobility difficulties, language delay, speech disorder and learning difficulties.
