Some amazing quotes from our Wonderful Writers
“As the sky darkened, the stars appeared to shine more brightly…”
“Children playing on a white coating…”
“As the sweet maker rose to the dawning of the neon sun…”
“The baby, who had sadly passed away, had no stories to tell…”
“The peaceful wind settled down for a winter’s night…”
“When the war began, she was never to be seen…”
“A star-speckled sky, flashing lights coating the mountainous tree”
Following a very successful first half term, the children in the Writing Club were treated to a trip into town with Mr Webster, Miss Robinson and Miss Scane for hot chocolate and McDonald's treats! Of course, we spent time writing in the Cathedral Square, creating 'T'was the Night Before Christmas' inspired poetry too...
Some photos from our trip!!
And animals pining.
And potatoes mashing.
And sisters hating.
And snow’s coating.
And warm hugs.
The Writing Club has also inspired the teachers. Read Miss Scane's poem below:
T’was the night before Christmas and all in the square,
The cold wind was blowing; Jack Frost in the air.
Clipping of heeled boots, upon the grey floor,
With a sprinkling of fairy lights, above each shop door.
Stars twinkling brightly- a pitch black sky,
Shoppers loudly chattering over a warming mince pie.
A Christmas Tree speckled, with ornaments a-many,
Wishing well full of Christmas-wish pennies.
Tinkering toy train trundles round the tree track,
Santa down the chimney with his present-filled sack.
Reindeers are flying, noses flashing bright red,
Turkey roast on the table, the whole family’s fed!
Celebrations in full flow, not a frown in sight,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
