Curriculum for life (C4L)
Vision for C4L
At Eye CE Primary School, we aim to prepare our children with life-long, transferable skills and knowledge so that they become valuable members of our society within an undetermined future.
Here at Eye, we ensure that children learn key life skills for the future and understand how to live and grow. To develop these key skills, we have dedicated weeks that focus on important aspects of daily life that we believe the children should know and understand the importance of.
|Parliament week||Democracy, voting, parliamentary system|
|Anti-bullying week||Myself and my relationships, anti-bullying, family and friends|
|Safety week||Healthy and safer lifestyles, managing risk, personal safety, e-safety|
|Healthy me week||Healthy and safer lifestyles, drug education, safety contexts, sex and relationships education|
|My money week||Economic well-being, financial capability|
|Aspirations week ( year six only )||Citizenship, working together|
C4L learning is recorded in learning journals in class. These journals consist of writing and drawing tasks as well as photographic evidence and QR codes to show activities and experiences.
Teachers asses children's understanding of key concepts in C4L by making observations and judgements within C4L sessions. Additional assessment is obtained using sticky steps, as part of retrieval practice, to ensure that children are recalling and remembering the skills that they have learnt.
