Welcome to Squirrels and Hedgehogs class page.

Please follow the link below for access to our school collective worship (assembly) videos. You can help your child/ren to share in this special part of school life by watching the videos and helping them to share their thoughts. A particular favourite of children in EYFS is the golden assembly, where we celebrate the efforts and achievements of children throughout the school.

Hello Summer! 🌞

What an exciting Summer term we have!

We will be starting our swimming on a Tuesday this half term. Please remember your child's swimming kit.

Forest School will still be happening on Tuesdays too - please remember to send your child in wearing long legged trousers or leggings for Forest school, even if the weather gets warm.

We're starting off this term with investigating and observing how plants change and grow, along with reading the story of 'Jasper's Beanstalk' by Nick Butterworth.

We are excitedly awaiting the arrival of our caterpillars to go in our 'Curiosity Area' to follow on from our investigations and learning all about butterflies last term!

We will also be looking at instructions and writing instructions for 'How to Plant a Seed.'

After learning about plants, we will be moving onto our topic about prehistoric life and reading the books 'Cave Baby' and 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth.'

Did you know that in 2018, woolly mammoth and woolly rhino remains were discovered next to A14 roadworks in Cambridgeshire?

How exciting to think that over 130,000 years ago, woolly mammoths would have been roaming around the land near where we live!!

Make sure you keep checking Tapestry for our weekly updates smiley

Bookman's half term reading challenge!

Friday 12th February is an enrichment day. There will be no Zoom lessons to attend but instead we ask that the children do some tasks away from screens. Please see below the EYFS bingo cards with some activities for you to try. We hope the children will enjoy the day!

Welcome Back!

We hope you have all enjoyed spending some family time together over the holidays and that you're all safe and well.

For all of us, learning will look a little different this term. Some of us will be in school, but missing friends that we usually play with. Lots of us will be at home and may be getting used to learning (and teaching) in different ways.

Please remember that your teachers are still here to help you however we can. We hope to see many of you on our daily zoom lessons and also look forward to seeing updates from your grown ups on Tapestry showing us what you have been doing.

The activities for each week's learning can be found on Tapestry and it is our primary method of communication. Please let us know by class email if you are struggling to access your account.

Stay safe boys and girls and don't forget to get outdoors for your daily exercise!!

This half term we will be focusing on the stories about Percy the Park Keeper for the first few weeks, learning about friendship and working together.

Later on in the half term we will be learning a variety of traditional tales.

Please remember our PE days are on a Tuesday. Please send your child to school in their PE kits for that day.

To see the main areas covered this term please see the Long term plan at the bottom of this page.

Remember to keep updating your child's Tapestry with your home activities.

Thank you for your continued support.
