Maths and Science

Happy 2016!  Welcome back after the break, it has already been a busy start to the term.

This term we will be looking at The Active Planet and investigating volcanoes, earthquakes and other amazing phenomena that occurs on our planet.  In Science we will be looking at rocks and fossils, in Art we will be creating volcano pictures and in D.T.we will be designing a safety suit for scientists working at volcanic sites.

As you can see, it has been a very busy end of term.  Pandas would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The children have been finding out what happens to sounds as you move further away and investigated if it made a difference whether or not you were facing the sound.  They have also made a Christingle this week.

Don't forget it is the Parent Cafe on Monday 7th December at 2pm.  All parents are welcome to join us.

Pandas have had a busy week.  In English the children used Talk for Writing techniques to learn how to write instructions.  As part of the work for Anti-Bullying Week, the children rewrote the lyrics to a popular song.

Talk for Writing

It was lovely to see everyone back after half term.  We have had a very busy week learning about fractions and writing a poem about fireworks.

A huge thank you to you all for bringing in items for the shoe boxes.  Pandas have filled 6 boxes, well done!

As you can see, Pandas had a very busy end of the half term doing lots of measuring.

I hope you all have a great half term, don't forget to bring your homework back on Monday.

Practising Measuring

Pandas had an exciting day at the Museum on Monday, learning lots of interesting and sometimes gruesome things about the Romans.

We have had an exciting start to the year. The class have discovered Roman artefacts in the school grounds and acted out the Roman invasion of Britain. In Maths, the children have been practising their skills through lots of games.

Remember P.E. is on Thursday.
