Our Church Ambassadors

Church Ambassadors

At Eye C of E Primary School we are privileged to have a group of children from year 2 to 6 who are committed to making a positive contribution to our church school and its community. Children are able to apply for the role of church ambassador during the beginning of the Autumn term because they believe that they are good communicators and co-operators, are reliable and organised, have good ideas that they can share with others and want to represent our school in the best way possible.

The church ambassadors meet weekly to discuss ways in which they feel we can improve our school. The also work together to plan and lead collective worship, organise contributions for our church services and act as representatives of our school at significant events and to welcome visitors to our school.

Church Ambassadors 2023-2024The church ambassadors attended the service of thanksgiving and dedication at Peterborough cathedral. They enjoyed listening to the musical items and joining in with the hymns and prayers. Some said that the service felt special and they felt close to God.

Church Ambassadors 2022-2023

The Church Ambassadors represented the school at the Diocesan Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication at the cathedral on Thursday 29th September with Mrs Bright, Mrs Edwards and Mr Lawlor. We enjoyed hymns, prayers and musical items from a variety of schools in the diocese. Before leaving school, the children received their Church Ambassador badges which they will  wear with pride as they take on this role.

Leading Collective Worship

The Church Ambassadors do a brilliant job of leading collective worship for both KS1 and KS2.

During the Autumn term, they worked together in their meetings with Mrs Edwards to plan the worship and wanted to give the message about how peace can be spread to others. They had made a video which showed how if we show peace to others, they might also then show peace to someone else. They also wrote and led prayers. Well done to all of the church ambassadors for being so courageous in standing up and talking in front of lots of people. They are always full of ideas for their next collective worship.
