Zebras -Year 5

Jubilee Picnic

Happy Summer 2 Zebras!

Dear parents/carers,

What a fantastic Summer 1 we had! The children took the new change of teachers in their stride and showcased what brilliant learners they are. We were even fortunate to gain three new members of Zebras class too- more friends for us to spend time with!

Some reminders and updates for Summer 2:

Forest School and Swimming continues to be on a Tuesday afternoon. Zebras are doing Forest School this half term. A reminder that they need to bring in a change of shoes for this.

PE-Wednesday

The whole of Year 5 will do PE on a Wednesday again this half term- this will be mainly outdoors so children will need outdoor PE kit. This needs to be brought in with them and children now need to attend school in their uniform and will change in school. PE kit does need to be the correct kit and teachers will be monitoring this throughout the term. White t-shirt, black or blue shorts and sensible footwear.

Home Learning

  • Please make sure your child reads regularly and brings their reading record in to be checked weekly on a Monday.
  • Weekly spellings will be sent home, with quick quizzes on a Monday.
  • Please make sure your child accesses Times Table Rockstars and Spelling Shed. They are great fun and a fantastic way to learn.
  • All children are expected to complete 3 goals on Complete Maths Tutor each week; logins for this have been sent home.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, either at the beginning to speak to myself or the end of the school day to speak to Mrs Heighton. Keep an eye on our class pages for updates on our learning.

Best wishes,

Miss Scane
